Studies: history – geography – latin (József Attila University of Szeged 1981–1986). PhD in history (University of Szeged, 1996). Habilitation (2008), doctor of the HungarianAcademy of Sciences (2013.)
From 1985 lecturer at the Department of Hungarian Medieval History of the József Attila University of Szeged, from 1988 associate professor, from 2013 university professor and head of the Department of Medieval and Early Modern Hungarian History.
Founding member of the historical journal AETAS (1985).
Research interests: Hungarian medieval history in the Arpadian and Angevin era, especially church history, urban development, economic and cultural history.
