Dr. László Szegfű CSc

László Szegfű (1942) historian, candidate of historical sciences (CSc), teaching in higher education since 1973. Head of the Department of History at the Juhasz Gyula Teacher Training College (JGYTF) since 1989, head of the Department of History at the JGYPK (University of Szeged, Teacher Trainig Faculty) between 2000 and 2006. Holder of the Széchenyi Scholarship of Professors between 2000 and 2003. Professor of the PhD programme in history at the University of Szeged. Research interests: Hungarian prehistory and its intellectual inheritance, history of Hungary under the Árpád dynasty (especially the life and work of St. Gerard), folk culture and literacy of students in Hungary before the battle of Mohacs (1526). Author of more than 200 academic papers (12 books, 23 book sections, 114 historic studies), reviews, informative articles and contributions to academic textbooks used in teacher training programme at the Department of History.
