Dezső Garda, born on the 26^th of August 1948 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, studied history at the University of Babeş-Bolyai. During the Ceauşescu era, his works, studies and books were censored. In 1982, copies of his book on Gheorgheni were publicly burnt (since it did not correspond to the principles of the dictatorship’s falsification of history). He defended his PhD thesis on the 9^th of January 1995, at the Institute of History of NicolaeIorgaRomanAcademy. Since 1998 he is a docent at the Faculty of Gheorgheni of the University of Babeş-Bolyai. His research interests: history of the Seklers and Armenians of Transylvania. He has published 20 books, 120 academic studies in different books, annuals and academic journals.
